Remote control car racing.
Friday after 4pm is remote control car racing time in Doha. We went along and found a really nice facility with car enthusiasts happily pushing their cars to the limits. Owen and Erin loved the noise and busyness of the track. When the sun went down the lights came on and it was more racing. We will certainly visit again before the summer break.

Doha by night
Brendon and I got to spend an evening out at the Museum of Islamic Art and the Corniche. I had a great time with my camera and got some great shots.

Today was the last day of the Doha Artistic Gymnastics Challenge Cup 2013 so armed with my camera, a sick cherub and half of Doha we went along to Aspire Dome to watch this international event. There were a lot of athletic bodies twisting themselves into unbelievable positions to beat the competition.

Mangrove swamps visit
Today Brendon had the day off so we took a drive out to Al Khor mangroves to have a look around. It was lovely to see so much green in one place. It smelled like the sea, had little crabs running around and fish swimming in the transparent cold water. We looked at the crabs, walked a bit, crossed the streams (with buggy in tow). Unfortunately someone had emptied cases of shot gun cartridges into the water that spoiled the scenery. The bird life was great! So quiet and peaceful. Owen enjoys a spot of fishing but Brendon needs to brush up on his skills as he keeps having to untangle line from rocks or sticks. Erin loved throwing stones into the water and I loved capturing all the moments!
