The Marine Festival took place from the 17th to 26th March. As Owen and Erin were poorly all week we decided that we did not want to miss it and so had to go on a Friday afternoon along with all the locals. It was busy and vibey and nice to be outdoors. There was a seal show which we could not attend as it was at Erins sleep time, a puppet show, aquarium (also opening at her sleep time), sand sculputures and a volley ball competition featuring NL vs Slovakia. They did enjoy the fun and activity.

The Pearl
Today we visited The Pearl that has the slogan "Discover The Pearl-Qatar. Live The Riviera Arabia". It is a lavish, secure and exclusive island retreat with a Riviera-style community. With all the brands resident here i.e. Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls Royce and Jimmy Choo's just to name a few opening ones purse wide and frequently is not surprising. While we do not live on the wrong side of town this is the place that all Singletons aspire to. We decided to go on a Friday after Erins nap and at the locals prayer time. The place was quiet and shops not yet open so it was an ideal time to wander around and take in the dream like surroundings. Owen enjoyed looking at the big boats and watching the fish in the crystal clear water. Erin sipped on her fruit shake and wandered around the restuarant smiling at the waiter. We will definately be back for another visit.

Fun in the sunshine
It is hotting up here. The car thermometer tells me it is more than 30 degrees in the day. I am battling to imagine what 45 or 50 degrees will feel like. With our new fence and gates up it really gives one piece of mind when the children are outside. I do go out every morning to check inside and outside the play house that there are no creepy crawly's lurking around. Erin and Owen love being outdoors and when I take Erin inside and close the door she bellows like a banshee.

It's a race against time
My first 2011 goal was to start a fitness programme here at the gym. The facility is a stones throw from our front door and yet it has taken me more than 2 months to put my foot in there. My goal was set with a deadline of the 17th March 2011 which is Erins 1st birthday and I was supposed to be my pre-pregnancy weight. I have 2kgs to go until I reach it. It's a race against time. Let's see how it goes.
